Through community events, corporate and social events, daily wine lounge hospitality and management.

We are an established and growing winery that is seeking a team player with a “can-do” attitude that is excited about being part of a fun and expansive brand. The successful candidate will be sales and customer service oriented with the ability and proven track record to be self managing, capable of reaching sales goals and creating a fun, hospitable culture internally and for guests to the hip and stylish tasting room. We are looking for a hand’s-on candidate that will enhance our team and build on our successful programs and tasting room experience.

Overview: Seeking a professional, qualified candidate for the Tasting Room Lead Manager for our creative & innovative tasting room of our female-owned, family winery. The ideal candidate would have a self starter approach and develop the tasting room business while providing 5 star customer service for the premium wine brand.

POSITION SUMMARY: Create exceptional, unique and brand consistent guest experiences. Drive revenue and take a leadership role in achieving or exceeding budgeted goals. Work closely with the owner to ensure achievement of objectives and incentives. Lead events and local community focused gatherings while bringing in the arts, wellness and highlighting Napa Valley’s many talented artists. Conduct memorable wine experiences for each guest that share the winery brand story. Point person and initiator of all outreach to other wineries, concierge, tour companies and DMC’s to generate traffic to tasting room and our private cave programs. Primary functions include: daily operational duties, opening and closing, motivated and strong communication skills, honest and has integrity, promoting traffic to tasting room through relationships and consistent outreach with other wineries and business, ensuring exemplary customer service and a strong ability to make sales and train other team members on selling techniques, promoting brand awareness and being a positive influence and example.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
• Manage all aspects of tasting room in collaboration with the owner
• Motivate, communicate and present to the staff daily, monthly and quarterly goals, striving to improve monthly sign-up performance and meeting all budgeted goals
• Participate and co-lead monthly staff meetings with tasting room team
• Hire new team members
• Provide creative ideas and participate in brainstorming meetings as part of the management team to continually enhance visitor experience and increase direct sales
• Contribute to the hiring, training and discipline process for tasting room candidates
• Assign daily operational and merchandising tasks to your team
• Lead all selling activity of tasting room. Personally engage in selling and have direct interaction with guests at point-of-sale
• Ensure each staff member actively engages all guests while ensuring the brand is being properly communicated with each guest interaction through messaging, staff
appearance and vocabulary
• Oversee daily wine inventories and wine ordering
• Oversee daily opening and closing register procedures
• Keep accurate record of all transactions and point-of-sale procedure
• Maintain the daily communication calendar for all team members to read
• . Manage Tock reservation system
• Inform team members of upcoming events and activities in tasting room and coordinate and manage monthly community events highlighting local artists and contributors
that enhance the community experience and expand the offerings in the tasting room to draw in customers..
• Create a positive and memorable wine tasting experience for guests to build customer loyalty and build on wine club memberships
• Data entry of all mailing and wine club sign up forms
• Responsible for daily up keep of tasting room and all outdoor areas
• Responsible for meeting all budgets and goals of tasting room
• Develop outreach program and keep in constant contact with wineries, B&B, hotels, DMC and transportation companies
• Develop and maintain relationships with Napa Valley Wineries and other gatekeepers and partners to refer business to tasting room
• Take a lead role in event bookings, promotion, coordination and execution at tasting room
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications: An optimistic attitude and a sense of humor. A friendly outlook and demeanor while remaining eager to learn about the wine industry and the winery. Exceptional customer service, CAN-DO attitude, self starter, solution based, strong sales ability and communication skills and a team player. Previous winery and management experience preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through and must be able to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. A natural leader and self-motivator that has the ability to motivate team members to meet or exceed goals. Exceptional customer service combined with a can-do attitude with a team-oriented approach. Commitment to providing an elevated level of service to all guests as well as treating co-workers with respect and dignity.
