Event Manager

We are looking for energetic, positive individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and can provide consistent, friendly and responsive service to all of our guests.

Successful candidates will be professional, detail-oriented, organized, and possess exceptional customer service skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently.

You will be responsible for executing high-end special events, through effective collaboration with the Oak Avenue sales team and event client. You will oversee setup, execution and post-event processes.

Must have the ability to train servers/bussers on site when needed, communicate clearly and effectively with the kitchen staff and maintain a positive and calm attitude at all times.

DUTIES

Customer-Service:
– Be friendly, courteous and accommodating.
– Interact with the host to respond to any special requests or last-minute adjustments.
Attention to Detail:
– Sharp attention to food standards, quality of service and guest and employee safety.
– Ensure the venue is ready prior to guest arrival, including dining tables, bar, food and beverages.
– Supervise event setup, service and strike.
– Ensure the property is left clean and clear at the end of each event.
– Plan with the sales director and coordinate with kitchen staff to confirm final event details, including menu, event setup requirements and service standards.

Leadership:
– Supervise and assign tasks to catering staff.
– Monitor the activities of staff and guests and respond to questions, complaints or comments
– Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and clients.
– Ensure compliance with sanitation, hygiene, health and safety, along with workplace policies and procedures.
– Set the example for team members of commitment, work ethic and personal character.

Problem-Solving Skills:
– Manage employee conflict, difficult customers and potential order issues.
– Manage customer expectations and resolve all concerns/queries.
Speaking Skills:
– Accurately and easily verbalize standards and service methods to staff.
– Communicate clearly and concisely to venue contact, guests, staff and kitchen team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
– Minimum two years of experience in catering management or event banquet management, with an emphasis on dining room service and execution.
