Wine Licensing Assistant

Hospitality Sales Associate

Part time hybrid position to assist with preparing forms and applications for wine licensing, permits and registrations, ABC, TTB, CDTFA, out of state registrations, and additional tasks. Searching for candidates with wine compliance experience, or currently in a wine studies program, or a legal/paralegal background with an understanding of wine compliance/licensing, or winery admin/assistant experience, or work experience in a winery/wine business environment handling licensing & compliance tasks. Knows or able to quickly learn how to use wine compliance software such as ShipCompliant, TTB electronic permit filing systems, TTB certificate of label filing system, and 50 state wine reporting. This is a part time hourly position, project based. Looking for candidates in or near the Napa Valley, however, will consider others from the San Francisco bay area. Some training will be included based on experience. We are a small customer service focused company based in Yountville with a growing consulting business. This is a hybrid position to start (remote and in-person) and may fully change to in-person at any time.

DUTIES

  • Understanding of wine compliance is preferred
  • Wine licensing in multiple states, direct to consumer wine licensing, wholesale wine licensing, California wine permit process, out of state wine permit process, able to prepare documents for wine licensing registrations and renewals in most states
  • Understands wine reporting, sales and excise tax reports
  • Has good handwriting and attention to detail
  • Experience using pdf/acrobat forms, good with electronic and/or paper filings, internet savvy, familiar with ABC, TTB, CDTFA, shared files, tracking information
  • Able to communicate via email, phone or text messaging
  • Has a desire to learn and a genuine interest in wine business and compliance
  • Other compliance and admin tasks may be added as needed to complete projects.

If you do not possess all skills outlined above, but have some wine knowledge, have medium to advanced computer skills, can quickly find information on various sites, learn new software fairly quickly, and like filling out various forms including pdf, paper and e-forms, we will train on other areas of compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Understanding of wine compliance is preferred or previous work in a winery or wine business, wine licensing, wine admin, wine legal and compliance.
